Main electrical panel upgrades in Las Vegas
A main panel upgrade replaces your home’s electrical panel with one that can safely handle more load. It’s often needed before adding solar, a battery, an EV charger or major new appliances. Tempo is a licensed Nevada electrical contractor, so we handle the upgrade along with the permits and inspections.
How do I know if I need a panel upgrade?
You may need an upgrade if:
- You’re planning solar, a battery or an EV charger
- Breakers trip often
- There’s no room in the panel for new breakers
- Your panel is old, damaged or a model with known safety problems
- You’re adding major appliances, a pool pump or a room addition
Do I need a new panel to go solar?
Not always. Electrical code limits how much solar a panel can safely accept, based on the panel’s rating. We check your panel during the site survey and tell you whether an upgrade is needed before you sign anything.
What happens during a panel upgrade?
A typical upgrade follows these steps:
- We assess your panel, electrical service and planned loads
- We pull the permit
- We schedule the power shutoff and replace the panel
- A building inspector checks the work
- Power is restored
Frequently asked questions
Can you do the panel upgrade and solar installation together?

Will my power be off during the upgrade?
Yes, for part of the day while the panel is replaced. We tell you the schedule in advance so you can plan around it.
